Meet Anne

Founder of Grit & Grace

HELLO AND WELCOME!

I’m Anne, and I am excited to get to meet you and create your perfect look. I believe that a stylist is more than a person you go to occasionally for a haircut. I strive to develop long-lasting relationships with my clients. Overtime many of my clients start to feel more like family. I know that it can be a bit nerve-wrecking to place your trust (and your hair) in the hands of a stranger, so let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in the Chicagoland suburbs and currently live in Wheaton with my husband and our beautiful daughter.  As a busy working mom, like many of my clients, I have learned it takes both Grit + Grace (and a strong cup of coffee) to excel in life.

Becoming a mom has been the most rewarding (and challenging) experience of my life – no one warned me how emotional I would get after having my daughter! My husband is a phenomenal chef, who partnered with a friend to help open and run local restaurants in Naperville, Glen Ellyn and Wheaton. Although life can get a little hectic at times, I am extremely grateful for my family.

I originally went to school to become an aesthetician, but quickly found that sitting in a quiet room, performing treatments wasn’t for me. I started my career as a stylist by chance, when out-of-the-blue, one of my friends asked me to give him a much needed haircut. I am still not sure why he thought I was the right person for the job, but my first hair cut took 2hours and it didn’t turn out half-bad. Working as a stylist has been a natural fit ever since. I enjoy getting to know each client that sits in my chair and connecting with them is truly one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

I graduated from the Aveda Institute and have worked as a hair stylist and colorist for more than a decade. I opened Grit + Grace as I found myself wanting more, both for myself as a stylist and for my clients. I am committed to providing exceptional service, whether you’re coming in to tone, touch-up, a quick trim or are ready for a whole new look. When you’re in my chair, I want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Grit + Grace is a judgment-free zone.

I pride myself in being honest and will never provide a service I feel would damage your hair. To keep your hair as healthy as possible, all of the products I use are free of additives and harmful chemicals, from the hair color to the deep conditioning treatments.

Although I entered into the field by chance, I am passionate about hair care.  For me, there is no better feeling than helping clients achieve the look that makes them feel amazing and confident. Whatever change you’re looking for, I’ll do everything I can to help get you there.

I can’t wait to meet you!!!
